Introduction

Dear Sisterfriend,
What are those things that trouble you as a woman called to ministry?
What keeps you up late at night and wakes you early in the morning?
What keeps you on your knees in prayer and causes tears to run down your face?
I regularly talk to women serving in ministry, and we have so many things in common when it comes to the struggles, challenges, and blessings of this life of ministry that God has called us to. You can only understand this if you are one of US!
A few months ago, I asked some colleagues who lead women in ministry about the “pain points” that they believe women in ministry struggle with the most. It was eye-opening yet not surprising that all three women generally shared the same things. I also asked the same question to the women who are members of my Called 2 Ministry private Facebook group. Once again, there were so many common themes.
Isolation & Loneliness (Lack of community)
Church Hurt
Underappreciated and overworked
Feeling inadequate in the role
Boundaries
Identity as a Pastor’s wife
People’s expectations
Having to “fill in the gaps”
Being stretched too thin
Trying to be “perfect”
Insecurity
Having to do it all
Not enough time to do everything
No time to rest
Disrespect for your role
Comparison to others
Trying to live your purpose
Balancing family and ministry
Do any of these resonate with you? I think that all of them have touched my life at some point in time or another.
I invite you to join me on Monday mornings right here in your “Inbox” as I share some insight about how I have navigated (often unsuccessfully) through these issues and so many more.
